Clinical Audit Support Centre positively promote clinical audit and QI by sharing examples of best practice in the field. Ten years ago we launched Clinical Audit TV and its primary purpose is to showcase examples of excellence in clinical audit. Clinical Audit TV features a series of 5 to 10 minute films that in most instances incorporate slide-sets with audio narration. Many winners of our annual clinical audit and quality improvement awards have kindly helped create short films that highlight how clinical audit and QI can help improve patient care and outcomes. In the spirit of sharing best practice we also make the resources on Clinical Audit TV available via YouTube and you can find all of our films by searching for ‘casc2006’.
Clinical audit in action film 8: Neck of Femur Fractures Audit
This eight-minute film is narrated by Dr. Narin Suleyman and is entitled ‘An Audit of Time to X-ray in Neck of Femur Fractures’. The project audited care against a College of Emergency Medicine clinical standard and was awarded the Martin Ferris clinical audit prize at CASC’s 2014 junior doctor awards.
Clinical audit in action film 7: Improving Medical Handover
This ten-minute film is narrated by Dr. Aamir Saifuddin and Dr. Lucia Magee and is entitled ‘Chase CRP, Review Patient’: Improving the Quality of out-of-hours Medical Handover. The project was awarded CASC’s Clinical Audit of the Year at the annual junior doctors awards in 2014.

This twelve-minute film is narrated by Dr. Rebecca Gibson and provides details of her clinical audit project that won CASC’s 2012 Clinical Audit of the Year award. The project focused on the important subject of falls and was conducted by a small team including Rebecca, Dr. Heaney and Ms. K. Hull.
